As pointed out on WPTavern today, the WordPress theme repository now has over 1000 themes (or 1004 themes and 8,173,818 downloads to be precise).
These themes are all available for download and testing and don't forget you can now try these themes directly from within your WordPress installation without downloading anything.
If you look at the screenshot below from the WordPress admin backend running in Instant WordPress, you can see that below the 'Appearance' menu item on the right, there is an 'Add New Themes' item.
Clicking on this will allow give you the following options:
- Search - this allows you to search the the WordPress theme repository
- Upload - install a theme from a downloaded zip file
- Featured - view themes that are currently being featured in the the WordPress theme repository
- Newest - view the newest themes in the WordPress theme repository
- Recently Updated - view the recntly updated themes in the WordPress theme repository
This means that you can view and try all 1000 themes without leaving your WordPress installation. Nice!
